Gout

Gout is a form of inflammatory arthritis caused by a buildup of uric acid crystals in the joints that can lead to sudden, intense pain—often called a gout flare—and swollen joints that may become red and/or hot.
At Metro Foot & Ankle Specialists, our podiatrists provide comprehensive and tailored personal treatment to each patient. Treatments include prescription medication (NSAIDS, steroids and colchicine), Joint injections, orthotics and lifestyle changes. In rare cases of chronic gout, surgery may be performed to remove tophi or repair joint damage
