Reconstructive Surgery/Charcot Reconstruction

Ankle and foot disorders can arise from a variety of sources.  Reconstructive surgery may be used to cure or repair foot and ankle disorders brought on by illnesses, traumas, and congenital deformities when conservative treatments are ineffective or inappropriate.  The patient's quality of life, health, and ability to function can all be enhanced by these operations.

While minimally invasive procedures can typically be used to do reconstructive surgery as an outpatient, more severe cases may still necessitate a standard open procedure. The length of recovery varies depending on the ailment being treated. Physical therapy may also be required after immobilization with a cast or brace.
